Good day to all!
Touching base again with Minix (and looking forward to the upcoming U8K Ultra Android Box), I was made aware of a new kind of device Minix have developed for the Car entertainment and navigation market!
It is the CA480. A Wired CarPlay to Android AI Media Hub. It’s main purpose is to make re-pairing and reconnecting your phone each time you get into your car – redundant.
How? Simple. The CA480 Stays in your car, attached to your multimedia (probably Android Auto) wireless screen via Bluetooth, and getting power via USB port. It will take a 2G/3G/4G LTE Nano SlM card, and keep you connected without having to fumble with your smartphone and remember to connect it again when you’re in your car.
CA480 runs Android 12, is compatible with over 800 vehicle models, and also contains 8GB RAM +128GB ROM (storage). It also allows for TF (MicroSD) card storage expansion for up to 256GB MicroSD cards.
At CA480 heart is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 0cta-core, a 64-bit CPU in 11nm technology, running up to 2.0 GHz.
On the communication front, CA480 offers Dual-band Wi-Fi with support tp to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac2.4 GHz+5 GHZ), and Bluetooth support for Dual BT 5.0, for iPhone/Android smartphone hands-free calling & audio streaming. Also supporting external BT mouse, BT remote control, and so on.
As mentioned before, CA480 receives power from a standard USB 5V connection.
CA480 also contains a built-in GPS supporting GLONASS/Beidou/QZSS/Galileo satellites.
In short, if you are looking for an independent Android System for your car, the CA480 is worth checking out, and is available now on Minix’ website, for $249.90 USD
