At CES 2026, Withings is introducing Body Scan 2, an updated version of its Body Scan platform that expands the scope of health metrics captured during a short, guided weigh-in. The device sits above Withings’ conventional smart scales and is positioned as a more comprehensive at-home assessment tool rather than a body-composition-first product.

It is essential to differentiate Body Scan from Body Comp, the scale Withings launched at IFA 2022, which we covered at the time. Body Comp focuses on advanced body composition, vascular age (Pulse Wave Velocity), and nerve health indicators, all without a handle. It is designed as a step-up model for users interested in the cardiovascular context alongside weight and fat metrics.

Body Scan, by contrast, is a separate product line that relies on a retractable handle with integrated electrodes, enabling measurements that require upper-body contact. The first-generation Body Scan,

introduced earlier at CES, was never covered on Ubergizmo. Body Scan 2 builds on that concept and substantially broadens the physiological scope.

According to Withings, Body Scan 2 analyzes more than 60 biomarkers during a 90-second session. New additions include Impedance Cardiography (ICG) to estimate cardiac pumping efficiency, alongside a 6-lead ECG for heart rhythm and electrical activity. The scale also introduces an AI-based hypertension risk notification, intended to flag elevated risk without the use of a traditional blood pressure cuff.

Vascular assessment remains part of the system via Pulse Wave Velocity. At the same time, ultra-high-frequency bioimpedance spectroscopy is used to derive cellular and metabolic indicators, including markers of metabolic efficiency and early glycemic imbalance. The emphasis is on trend monitoring over time, rather than single readings.

From a hardware standpoint, Body Scan 2 keeps the tempered-glass platform and retractable handle, and adds an on-handle color display for immediate feedback. Data syncs to the Withings app over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, where results are aggregated into longer-term views, including a Health Trajectory score.

Body Scan 2 continues Withings’ pattern of introducing high-end health hardware at CES and IFA. We previously covered the BPM Vision blood pressure monitor at CES 2025, BeamO at CES 2024, and ScanWatch 2 at IFA 2023. Pending regulatory clearance for select metrics, Body Scan 2 is expected to ship in Q2 2026, priced at $599.95 in the US, with regional pricing for Europe and the UK.
