Lenovo is launchingthe ThinkPad X13 Gen 7, the successor to the ThinkPad X13 Gen 6, as its latest 13-inch business ultraportable for people who need a serious work laptop easy to carry.

The device is impressively light for a laptop packing such performance. Lenovo labels it an “ultra-mobile AI PC,” and the Intel model starts at 930g / 2.05 lbs, while the AMD model starts at 953g / 2.10 lbs, keeping both versions under 1kg.

The ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 will be offered with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors or AMD Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series processors, depending on configuration. Intel Core Ultra Series 3, also known as Panther Lake, was introduced at CES 2026 as Intel’s latest AI PC platform, succeeding Core Ultra Series 2, also known as Lunar Lake.

The AMD option is also a major generational step for business laptops. The Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series brings AMD’s newer Zen 5 CPU architecture, RDNA 3.5 graphics, and XDNA 2 NPU for dedicated on-device AI work. AMD’s broader Ryzen AI PRO 400 mobile family can reach up to 60 TOPS of AI performance, while Lenovo lists the ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 configuration at up to 50 TOPS.

That AI hardware is designed to run compatible Copilot+ PC features and other local AI tasks more efficiently on the laptop itself. In plain terms, that can help with features such as better video calls, background noise reduction, and AI-assisted workflows without sending every task to the cloud.

The ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 features a 13-inch WUXGA IPS display rated at 400 nits, with 100% sRGB coverage and available in both touch and non-touch options. Video calls are supported by a 5MP camera with IR, a physical camera shutter, Dolby Atmos user-facing speakers, Lenovo Clear Voice, two speakers, and two microphones.

For a 13-inch ultraportable, this machine is packed with connectors. It includes two USB-C ports, one USB-A port, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack, along with Wi-Fi 7, optional 5G, and optional NFC.

Lenovo is also pushing repairability and sustainability here. The ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 has customer-replaceable parts, including the battery, RTC battery, SSD, WWAN module, and bottom cover, and it carries an iFixit repairability score of 9 out of 10. The battery uses 100% recycled cobalt, with additional recycled materials used in the cover, speaker enclosure, cable holders, keycaps, AC adapter, and packaging.

The ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 is expected to be available in May 2026, with an estimated starting price of $1,499.
