Sony has expanded its home entertainment lineup in the US market with the launch of the Bravia 7 II and Bravia 9 II smart TVs. The defining feature of these premium displays is the introduction of True RGB Mini LED technology. Unlike traditional setups that rely on white backlights filtered through layers, this design utilizes independent red, green, and blue LEDs to deliver higher luminous efficiency and superior color accuracy.

The entry-level premium option, the Bravia 7 II, achieves an intense HDR performance with 2,300 nits of peak brightness while covering 88% of the BT.2020 color space. This 4K smart TV operates on the Google TV platform and supports gaming features like 120 Hz refresh rates, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and Dolby Vision. However, hardware connectivity is limited to two HDMI 2.1 ports, one of which is shared with the eARC connection.

The flagship Bravia 9 II pushes performance further, delivering up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness and the highest color volume in the company’s consumer history. It features Sony’s proprietary RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro system to control individual LEDs with extreme precision. It also includes integration with Bravia Gallery and an upgraded audio array featuring multiple speakers, specialized tweeters, and a rear subwoofer.

Both lineups are currently available for pre-order in the United States. Retail pricing for the Bravia 7 II spans from $1,599 for the 50-inch model up to $8,999 for the massive 98-inch version. Mid-range sizes like the 65-inch and 75-inch models are priced at $2,599 and $3,099, respectively. The flagship Bravia 9 II begins at $3,599.99 for the 65-inch model and scales up to $30,999.99 for the ultra-premium 115-inch variant, targeting enthusiasts looking for the pinnacle of current display technology.
