Here are a few of the games that I look forward to:
- Simcity (2013)This is a big franchise that’s been around since 1989 when Maxis released the first city building game, the first Simcity. Since then there were several versions and even competitors such as Cities XL 2012 tried their hand in the metropolitan building endeavour. But Simcity didn’t go anywhere. In 2013, around february, the new Simcity simulation game is coming out, and it’s awesome. It’s still the game we know and love, but with many tweaks, and feels like it’s been adjusted to the present. Even so.. the graphics are still not where I hoped they would be. From early visualization video released, they made us think that the series is going full-on 3d (this has been tried and cancelled in the past), with near photo-realistic quality, and what’s coming out is more of the same colorful, a bit childish isometric stuff we seen before. zooming in and turning the map does not seem to improve things by much. Now, I know that games of this level of complexity tax any kind of PC, but It’s been long enough to be using that excuse, don’t you think?
- Far Cry 3I hope that this game does not need any introduction, but just in case it does: Remote tropical island, gorgeous views, crystal clear blue waters, green lush jungles, and you, shipwrecked, airplane survivor or any other of survivor, left to explore the island and discover you’re not alone. Not even a little. And in this installment, the bad guys got way way worse! Coming this December, this game takes hallucinogens and throws them in the mix with some seriously disturbed individuals to make Far cry 3 more violent, more difficult, and simply more. The game is going back to it’s origins after taking a detour with Far Cry 2 which took place in the african desert and was a completely different game. This game has a lot riding on since it’s been shown around over the last year and a half and built a big buzz. Now it’s time to see if it fulfils its promise.
- Hitman: Absolution (Hitman 5)The Hitman Series has been around and introduced us to agent 47, the bold guy who’s pretty good will all kind of weapons, and especially a piano string.. Hitman: Absolution follows Agent 47, a cold blooded assassin, who takes on his most dangerous contract to date. Betrayed by those he trusted and hunted by the police, he finds himself at the centre of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world, in his search for the truth. This time, the game is even more stealthy and smart, allowing you to use disguises and the environments in ways never used before. You have more than one way to skin a cat, and more than two to kill a mark. Coming this November.. Good luck!
